Walt Missingham at 14th Annual Wushu World Championships – Kazan Russia
Walt recently attended the 14th Annual Wushu World Championships and Congress in Kazan Russia in his capacity as the President of the Oceania Kung Fu Wushu Federation. Walt commented “the last time I was in Russia I was shooting the documentary ‘Last Circus’ back then it was the USSR and a communist country. It was great to see the tremendous advances that have been made in Russia since that time”.
14th World Wushu Championships in Kazan, Russia
Later this month the 14th World Wushu Championships will be staged in Kazan Russia. Australia will be sending a full team of athletes and coaches and is hopeful of improving on its great results in 2015 in Indonesia.

Walt Missingham confirmed as Vice Chairman IWUF Marketing & Development Committee
KWA President has been confirmed as the Vice Chairman IWUF Marketing & Development Committee. Walt commented “the marketing of our sport has evolved over the years and I am very pleased that my contributions have made some positive difference. Changing the name of the World Traditional Wushu Championships to the World Kung Fu Championships was a great step forward in our global brand recognition and the recent establishment of worldwushu.tv has been a tremendously successful initiative. Our sport now has a global inertia that will only get better”.
Kung Fu Wushu Vanuatu Formed
Oceania Kung Fu Wushu President, Walt Missingham recently visited Vanuatu to facilitate the formation of the newest Oceania Kung Fu Wushu Federation member ‘Kung Fu Wushu Vanuatu’.
Walt commented: Vanuatu joins PNG, New Zealand and Australia in what is the expanding presence of Kung Fu Wushu in the Oceania region. This is an important step as we move to achieve the recognition of Kung Fu/Wushu as a Pacific Games sport. Jean Baptiste Leong and his team have my complete confidence in their capacity to advance kung fu/wushu participation in Vanuatu”
